St. Matthew’s Gospel serves as a permanent record of Jesus Christ’s healing touch.
God’s Church has preserved and proclaimed the Gospel through the centuries.
Believers of every century benefit from learning about the healing touch of Jesus.
Through prayer and the Divine services of the Church, believers learn much more.
The Church’s celebration of Holy Mysteries brings to mind Jesus’ healing power.
Matthew 8:15 - And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. (KJV)
St. Matthew’s Gospel describes specific healings that have actually taken place.
The wonder never goes away when healings are made known to attentive believers.
Known healings have continued through the centuries for believers of strong faith.
The Lord determines when to touch believers in a way that brings lasting healing.
The historical records in the Gospel provide a basis for firm hope for all believers.
Matthew 9:21 - For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. (KJV)
The woman with resolute hope reached out in the crowd to touch Jesus’ garment.
Today’s believers have the ability to reach out to Jesus in prayer and worship.
Sufficient hope is required within the believer to overcome obstacles to faith.
Contemporary life brings many diversions and temptations to dilute faith and hope.
Present day gloom can be overcome when the believer links the heart with Jesus.
Matthew 9:29 - Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. (KJV)
God’s Church continues to vigorously proclaim the healing power of Jesus Christ.
Centuries of Christ’s miracles are preserved in the records of God’ Holy Church.
The service of Holy Unction embodies the Church’s belief in Jesus’ power to heal.
Believers have a responsibility to take the initiative to draw closer to Jesus Christ.
Staying distant from Jesus Christ and Christ’s Church does not foster healing.
Matthew 14:36 - And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. (KJV)
Rejoice in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ’s power to heal by touch.
Take time to ponder, review and study the records of Jesus Christ’s miracles.
Remove any impediments of doubt in the heart and mind that prevent firm faith.
Treasure the love of Jesus Christ for each person and the enduring hope He offers.
Benefit from the full life in Jesus Christ by embracing the miracles in the Gospel.
