SNF Office Manager Sister Aleksandra Slavkovic has been chosen to lead the Fraternal Society of Greater Pittsburgh (FSGP) as its president for 2022. She has been an active member of the society since2018 and has served the organization as 1st Vice Presidentprior to this election.
The (FSGP), headquartered in Western Pennsylvania, was organized in 1943 as one of three regional associations of the Pennsylvania Fraternal Alliance. They currently have 14 fraternal societies as members. The mission of the FSGP is promoting the goals and ideals of the Pennsylvania Fraternal Alliance through awareness and interest in the fraternal benefit system while helping others. Their motto is“The Keystone of Fraternals, Joining hands to Touch Lives.”
The membership meets monthly and provides ongoing education for membership on topics ranging from compliance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Risk Management, Cyber Security and Technology for our Fraternal Societies. The FSGP is a group committed to sharing best practices between membership and developing lifelong friendships. Similar to other benevolent societies, the FSGP contributes to local charities in the Western Pennsylvania region annually.
Each year in December the FSGP contributes to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. This year their donation was over $10,000. Additionally, the outgoing president has the opportunity to choose a charity for an additional donation. This year, outgoing President Joe Stefka, Jr., President of the National Slovak Society, chose The Crabtree Kovacicek House, which is focused on a Christian Mission to support Veterans.
Congratulations to Sister Slavkovic and thank you for your leadership in representing our Serb National Federation.
